Hello, members! In the wake of our lovely fest (and before our next major event), we're hosting a general, low-pressure, Dark Lord-appreciating meme. Jump in with anything you want to add, and at the end, we'll construct a masterlist for easy navigation of the topics.

This meme will run through August.

How to Participate

Prompt threads: Create a thread with an idea in it, as you would for a ficathon, and another participant (or participants) can respond by creating something for it. This idea could be for a drabble/fic, for art, for graphics - whatever you wish. Title your thread with "Prompt: [basic idea]"
For example:

Prompt: A Death Eater Halloween party
Character-appropriate costumes (Lucius Malfoy dressed as a peacock?), sadistic party games (for example, bobbing for dismembered Muggle bits and "pin the tail on the Wormtail"), and copious amounts of alcohol.

Meta/Discussion threads: Create a thread with a thought regarding Voldemort-related canon, fanon, history, et cetera, and other participants can respond to it with discussion of your idea. Title your thread with "Meta: [basic idea]"
For example:

Meta: Growing up during WWII
The Voldemort-as-Hitler analogies in Harry Potter aren't exactly discreet. Do you think Voldemort consciously took inspiration from Hitler? Do you think he considered Hitler an inspiration for his methods of purging, or would Tom have felt vulnerable, being a peculiar, magical, lower-class boy in England with few means of protection against Muggle weapons?

Squee threads: Create a thread for sharing anything Voldemort-related that makes you excited. This can be anything that wasn't applicable to either of the other types of thread, such as an amazing piece of art or fic (or an artist or writer) you just NEED to rec, a collection of LV reaction gifs you've culled off tumblr for the last four years, your favourite Tom Riddle quotes... or anything else, really. Other participants can respond to it with sharing and discussion of the squee-related thing. Title your thread with "Squee: [basic idea]"
For example:

Squee: what's your favourite Voldemort pairing?
Tell me about your ships :D

Rules

• Feel free to post fic or art created for the prompts to your journal/tumblr/Ao3/whatever - just be sure it's in an unlocked post so we can enjoy it :)


• If you're posting something long (more than 200ish words, or with more than one image), please put it behind an LJ spoiler tag (please post the rating (G, PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17) and warnings.


• Be nice to people. If you disagree about something, by all means, have a civil (and even spirited) debate, but don't get malicious about it. Right? Right.


• Most importantly, have a good time!

It was a very close competition - there were several people who came extremely close to janejenajeny's number of comments.  We'd like to thank all of you for the feedback you left for the writers, artists and podficcer in our fest!

Please let evening12 or myself know what you'd like for your prize.  The options are a) five custom-made icons, b) a shiny banner proclaiming your commenting prowess, or c) a Voldemort-centric drabble/ficlet (150-500 words) with the pairing (or lack thereof) of your choice.

We'd like to thank you all again for your participation in making our first fest a success - whether through writing, drawing, recording, commenting, reccing or lurking.  You've all been fantastic!  Participation banners will be posted sometime between today and tomorrow.
